What is Safeguarding?
By definition, safeguarding is term used to indicate measures put in place to protect the health, well-being and human rights of an individual. This can be for any potentially vulnerable individual such as children, the elderly and adults both mature and young.
How does TAS Cars ensure Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is a top priority here at TAS Cars. We ensure that all of our employees, including Drivers and Passenger Assistants, meet our employment criterion before being onboarded into the organisation. We want our passengers to feel comfortable that they are in safe hands, so we therefore ensure all of our Drivers have the following:
- A valid and full UK drivers license
- A valid DBS check
- IPTU accreditation
- Clean motor history
We also ensure that our Drivers and Passenger Assistants have a valid and up to date PAT certificate, which you can read more about below.
Our Drivers and Passenger Assistants are trained to the best of their ability, we ensure that they are given the best guidance possible to ensure that are confident for each journey they embark upon.
What is a PAT certificate?
A Passenger Assistant Training certificate, or PAT for short, ensures that any passenger assistants, such as Drivers and Passenger Assistants, are given the right information to meet the needs of a passenger. The following outlines just some of what the PAT certificate covers.
Disability Assistance
This includes disability awareness, how to communicate with passengers who may have learning disabilities, safe operation of a wheel chair and how to support those with disabilities.
Legal, Practical and Safety issues
Ensuring our Drivers and Passenger Assistants meet the legal requirements surrounding their role.
